As with everything fashion, shoe trends are forever changing, and it can be difficult to keep up. But the beauty of fashion is that it revolves, and the beauty of shoes is that they always fit, whereas clothing may not as your weight may fluctuate over the years. Even if the shoes you by this year are out of fashion by next year, it's only a matter of time before they return to the fashion scene. In the meantime, enjoy the current trends, here are some of the hottest trends in shoes in 2013.
Metallic Shoes
Metallic's can be tricky to wear, because really you couldn't get a more unnatural looking wearable thing than the mirrored shine of metallic's. But metallic's can look fabulous & chic when worn by the style savvy woman who knows how to dress them right. A trend for the truely brave and confident, you've got to be super self-assured to pull this trend off.
If this is a trend you're keen to try, try teaming metallic shoes with natural, muted tones, or black. A metallic shoe should be the star feature of your outfit, so bright colors worn with the shoe might prove difficult to pull off. Keep the rest of your outfit simple and understated, although you might want to try adding a simple silver necklace to your outfit to help to pull the overall look together.
Wedge Sneakers
Wedge sneakers are perhaps the most innovative trend of year, as they are a completely new concept, never having been done before in history. When i first saw these shoes i was on the fence as to whether i liked them or not, thinking that they looked just, odd. That was until i saw Miranda Kerr wearing them, looking amazing , and that's when it dawned on me, how cool , fun and funky these sneaker heels are.
The downfall of sneaker heels is that they aren't very versatile, i mean if you tried to pair them with a skirt or dress, you'd look completely ridiculous. I've seen women wearing them with shorts, and while that combination doesn't look horrible, it generally doesn't really work but a few can pull it off. For the vast majority of us the only ways to successfully nail the sneaker heels trend, is to wear them with jeans or leggings, it's will more cool with a pair of glasses.
Transparent Panel Shoes
This trend has come about after the release of the Christian Louboutin transparent cap toe heel, which quickly became a new favourite with celebrities. Many celebrities have been spotted wearing these heels on multiple occasions, celebrity fans of the transparent cap toe heel include; Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, Kim Kardashian, Rhianna, Kristen Stewart, & Nikki Hilton. This trend is original and versatile, making it a must try for any keen fashionista.
Of course most of us mere mortals can't justify spending $800 on a pair of Louboutin's, but not to worry , of course there are cheaper imitation versions of the shoe. There are also currently many different styles of the clear panelled shoe available, as it has been such a hit with the celebs.
Black & White
No one can go wrong with black & white, NO ONE. Unless your a person who wears socks with sandals, then you might be capable of getting it all wrong, but such a thing is a rarity. Black & white is a classic trend that always has been, and is always going to be fashionably acceptable, if not right on trend. Black and white shoes are extremely versatile as these 2 colors are the only colors that go with every other color.
This year try teaming a pair of black& white heels with a pair of black dress pants for a super sophisticated & stylish look. If your style is a bit more edgy, try them with a bold & bright colored dress, skirt, or trouser pant. You could team black & white heels with neutral tones too, gotta love the versatility of black& white.
Cut Out Cage Bootie
The cut out bootie is a trend that's been going strong for a couple of years now, as has the cut out clothing and swimsuit trend. There are just endless styles in the range of cut out booties, there's bound to be more than one that you love. The trendiest version of the bootie this year is a caged style. These look fantastic and right on trend when paired with skinny jeans, leggings, a long trench coat, or an edgy dress.
The cut out trend is probably going to be around for a while yet, so if you don't already own a pair of these booties, you'd better get a pair! There are so many ways that you can wear them, they will instantly dress up any outfit.
