SUCCESS STORY: BUDI SHOES

Gone are the days when young people felt that the “only” way to make a decent living was to join a company, slave away for years, and painstakingly climb the company’s ladder, before finally attaining success. Nowadays, an increasing flux of young folks are taking the bull by the horn and starting their own companies. In Africa as well, this phenomenon is ripe with success stories of young people who started their own businesses and are making waves in their respective industries.
GIBS Graduate Lebohan: - Meet Lebohan, the budding shoes entrepreneur and recent graduate of Gordon Institute of Business. Part of her curriculum during Business School was to develop a business project. However, Lebohan took it a step further and while in school started a full-fledged business called Budi Designs, making shoes that cater to the local demographic.

All designs are meticulously crafted for comfort and stylish enough to delight shoe fashionistas out there. Furthermore, given her recent entrance into the shoe market, Lebohan has already attained much success in South Africa. While still a student at GIBS, her creations were already prominent displays in stores and the business grew to such a point that she had to recruit a full time employee.
