Something about Fashion Changes in 2013

Fashion is a general term for a popular style or practice, especially in clothing, footwear, accessories, makeup and furniture. It also refers to the newest creations made by designers and are bought by only a few number of people. Things you may not know is that the sociocultural phenomenon called "fashion," that is, styles being widely adopted for a limited period of time, was not part of dress in the ancient world. It hasn't connected with clothing until the time when people paid attention to what they worn.

Fashion in clothing changes year after another, especially in recent years, it changes so fast that people feel hard to catch up with it. In fact, in ancient times, fashion evolved slowly. Long before, fashion was actually a word for nobles. Poor people only concerned about the warmth and comfort. For nobilities, clothes that would make them look loyal and elegant could be called in fashion. As a result, in old days, the symbols of fashion could be pearls, jewelries, ball grown, glasses and hairstyles that had a heavy look. Later on, fashion changes in the preferred style of a nation. It was often connected to social or political changes. For example, the Greeks and Italians were used to support the elegant army uniforms and count-attires, for the unique and intricate concepts in designs reflected a kind of national spirit.

Now, fashion changes rapidly, because in the modern society where information can be easily got. Today, miniskirts are popular, and maybe right the day after tomorrow long skirts will be fast in fashion again. However, the new trends haven't stopped old ideas from coming back. Designers often get inspiration from ancient fashions for many of the modern day fashions.

When it comes to elements that affect the change of fashion, culture should be the first taken into consideration. As time goes by, people are more and more open-minded. As a result a bikini, which was considered taboo before, is in great demand in fashion market. Similarly, due to the fact of culture differences, the veil that is popular in middle east maybe is not wanted in other counties. Therefore, specific styles differed from one culture to another. Within a culture some changes took place over time, but those changes usually occurred slowly, over hundreds of years.
