Selena Gomez and Her Atelier Versace Numbers

Selena Gomez at VMA 2013 Awards in Atelier Versace
Selena Gomez at VMA's 2013 Awards in Atelier Versace

We all know pop song artist, Selena Gomez, has recently turned 21 even though she still looks quite young for such a liberating number. When it comes to an awards ceremony, it shouldn't be no surprise she'll opt for full Atelier Versace numbers - the brands couture line - that are best known for designing very sexy pieces. This season, Atelier Versace's Fall 2013 collection came even more sexual and revealing than from previous seasons. To say the least, we weren't really expecting no one to show up in such designs from the collection. Okay, maybe for the VMA's 2013 vulgar red carpet event wouldn't have been shocking, but it was when Selena showed up in a navy revealing lace corset dress that was hold by Swarovski crystal-pins that appeared the dress could have ripped with any harsh move.

It seems that at 21, the artist may be beginning to feel more comfortable in what she wears with super high-slits, something her best friend, Taylor Swift, prefers to keep classic. We're not saying she's becoming excessive or vulgar, for the dress brought a perfect balance compared to other artists who walked the red carpet. It just seems the main buzz here that had several online sites talking about this dress was people not been accustomed to seeing Selena Gomez showing too much skin.....until now.

For fashion, we thought she looked beautiful in her Atelier Versace gown, but for others it may look different. And whether you hated it or not, by now she showed us she can't go wrong in anything she wears, and is really one of the few who can pull of this sexy look without vulgarity interfering. What do you think about Selena Gomez's revealing dress she wore at the VMA's 2013 red carpet?

Cannes 2013: The Celebrities That Left a Historic Triumph

There are only a few celebrities that leave a remarkable fashion moment any woman would dream of wearing so perfectly. As you may know, the Cannes 2013 Festival began yesterday with an abundance of celebrities arriving at this prestigious event. This one week events are always worth more than any other red carpet or interview, because fashion gives an extreme welcome to the stars. Only here is where you'll see most of your favorite celebrities dressed to impress in the most recent designer collections right of the runway.

There are some that leave a well remarked impression, but there are others that leave a legendary fashion moment. It has been one day since the events have begun, and I already have two of my favorite actresses as one the best celebrities to execute such a prestigious gala with perfection. Those women are Nicole Kidman and Carey Mulligan.

Nicole Kidman became one of the celebrities to break the record three times in a row; historic triumph. While others changed twice, this girl wanted to make Cannes a special day for everyone. Why not? For her arrival, she wore a beautiful navy sequin Dior dress that sculpted her body so well with those Dior heels. Later, for her second press look she opted to wear a black Alexander McQueen dress that made her look so confidently hot with a black ribbon tied around her hair. Dress and shoes spoke for itself. The most memorable moment that she gave was her red carpet appearance. She looked gorgeous in a Dior Couture dress from Raf Simons Spring 2013 couture show. Honestly this was one of my favorite dresses from the presentation. I've had been waiting to see someone in it, and that wait was finally over. Thank you Nicole for making it special! Nicole even gave some attitude with those fluorescent Jimmy Choo numbers.

Carey Mulligan didn't want be left behind. For her press appearance, she wore a black Balenciaga jumpsuit from Alexander Wang's debut for Balenciaga's Fall 2013 collection. Her edgy, feminine sparkle is what made this number work so well. She has worn Balenciaga two times in a row for an event, last being for the Met Gala. Perhaps she may become Wang's muse. If so, I guarantee Mulligan we'll be able to work that fall collection with ease. At the red carpet event, she decided to go for a beautiful pink Dior Couture gown. The dress may have been a little simple for some, but the construction of the details and the person who wears it is what gives life to a dress. Carey, you looked stunning, and with those two gentleman, enough said.

Zhang Ziyi and Jualianne Moore both in Dior Couture at the Cannes 2013 Festival event.

You may have seen that Dior has made a real comeback to the red carpet events, especially the Cannes 2013 Festival events. Just after Raf Simons Dior Couture and Ready-to-Wear collection were presented, the number of dresses that have been worn to various galas has been crazy. I believe it is the fact that Simons designs for the surreal woman who has a life of her own.

Chinese actress and model, Zhanq Ziyi wore a striking Dior Couture ensemble from Raf Simons' first debut for Dior's Haute Couture Fall 2012 collection. Julianne Moore also wore a Dior Couture dress from Simons' Spring 2013 Couture presentation.

Met Gala 2013 Red Carpet: The Couture Punks

Met Gala 2013 Red Carpet Review

Many of you may already know the Met Gala is one of the biggest events of the year concerning what fashion is all about. This year's theme exhibition was all about punk. Punk: Chaos to Couture is a celebration of the decades in the fashion world.

To celebrate the opening of this year's Met Gala 2013 exhibition, a vast majority of celebrities, editors, and designers gathered to join the inauguration of this year's theme. The red carpet is probably one of the most important piece of entertainment for many critics. We all want to know what designer a celebrity is wearing. And not only do we want to know who are they wearing, we also want to criticize how ugly they look in that dress. Come on now, it's Punk, of course it has to be over the top.

There have been several sites that have criticized the best and worst dressed of the night. I am against someone telling who was the best and worst dressed for this type of events. The Met Gala should be all about fun, and this is the only time where any celebrity should feel free to do some drama. Some seemed that they didn't get the memo, and looked as if they were going to the Oscars event. Being the theme that it was this year, punk, there were many things you could've worked with. People don't like it.........pick a finger.

Here are some of my favorites of the night. Some may not have been all punk, but they still looked beautiful for this event. Just this event.

Anne Hathaway in Valentino with Valentino Garavani // Jennifer Lopez in Michael Kors with Michael Kors

The Tiger and the Giraffe Print: Anne Hathaway looked unrecognizable bleached out, while Jennifer Lopez was giving it some attitude with that hair. Both looked gorgeous for the occasion accompanied with their fellow designers.

Jennifer's Lawrence Wardrobe Malfunction. Was It Done on Purpose?

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Spring 2013 Haute Couture
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Spring 2013 Haute Couture

Jennifer Lawrence struck us in this navy Dior Spring 2013 Couture piece. We could tell she had her game on, wearing a couture piece fresh off the runway (literally - the presentation was just last week). Rachel Zoe, who we believe is her stylist, did an excellent job dressing Lawrence on a last minute schedule. Apparently, Jennifer wasn't planning on attending the awards. A curious note is is that for the past few awards she's become very loyal to Dior. The dress seemed to be altered differently with a tail running longer from the original dress, but it was not a huge difference to not know who she was wearing. She took away the night with her supposedly wardrobe malfunction, which was not really a malfunction. It was part of the design the dress came with. The split called for more attention not only for Jennifer Lawrence, but for the brand itself (Dior and Raf Simons). The make-up and jewelry chosen to pair with this beauty gave life to the dress. Jennifer Lawrence, as usual, was wearing the dress, whilst Raf Simons should be enjoying his triumphs he’s been bringing to the “New and Modern” Dior. Cheers for both (three with stylist included).

Best Dressed List at The Critic's Choice Awards 2013 Ceremony

There were some who quite didn't know what they were doing, and there were others who knew their secret weapon. From patterns, colors, and deep v-neck cuts, there were lots to talk about. Below we give you some of the women (stars) who brightened the red carpet.

Taylor Swift at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Taylor Swift in Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2013

Taylor Swift struck us with this classic white dress, which couldn't get any sexier. Ralph Lauren should be proud of this country girl.

Brittany Snow at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Brittany Snow in Maria Lucia Hohen

Brittany Snow showcased her playful version (or sensual side) with this bright yellow dress. Wanna play?

Chloe Moretz at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Chloe Moretz in Simone Rocha Spring/Summer 2013

Chloe Moretz is still a 15 year old teenage girl for those of you who have forgotten. It's quite astonishing to see a girl like her already taking risks in what she wears. Some would say it's too much for a teenager to be wearing Chanel Couture at such a young age. That is simply called jealousy you people. This vivid applique dress sets another "It girl" we should seek to start following.

Heidi Klum at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Heidi Klum in Julien MacDonald Spring/Summer 2013

Heidi Klum is still teaching us her Victoria Secret spice that lives within her. Slits and cuts were the perfect lessons taught from her.

Jennifer Lawrence at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Jennifer Lawrence in Valentino Fall 2012 Couture

We didn't know in what list to set Jennifer Lawrence. At first we stared at her and believed she looked stunning, but then we had our doubts. It kept going back and forth. We'll just leave her here for now. One thing we knew for sure was that this lady seems to have had a great status for wearing a Couture piece.

Emma Watson at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Emma Watson in Peter Pilotto Spring/Summer 2013

Paris Hilton should maybe take some notes on wearing prints from this British lady. For some of you who may not know, this dress was apparently altered for her in a shorter version. The original dress should be inches longer than what Watson is wearing here. It seems Watson might enjoy showing some legs.

Rachael Leigh Cook at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Rachael Leigh Cook in Oliver Tolentino

Rachael Leigh Cook chose to wear a simple silhouetted dress for the red carpet. The silver necklace she paired it with was what put her as one of the best dressed. Who knew an accessory could be so powerful?

Julianne Hough at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Julianne Hough in Tony Ward Couture

Julianne Hough owned this number. Couture definitely sat well on her.

Marion Cotillard at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013

Marion Cotillard is a woman of many dresses who one more time was welcomes to the best dressed women.

Stars Who Didn't Shine at The Critic's Choice Awards Red Carpet

The People’s Choice Awards red carpet yesterday was full of statement trenders and well……horrible mistakes. As usual, not everyone is pleased as what celebrities wear when walking a red carpet. There’s always got to be that person who really didn’t make it to the best dressed list. Below, we give you some of the stars who didn’t shine at all. Poor Them.

Ellen Pompeo at The People's Choice Awards 2013
Ellen Pompeo in Lanvin
This western number above did not look suitable for an awards ceremony. The look felt too casual to be worn here. A horse ride would of appeared better.

Jennifer Aniston at The People's Choice Awards 2013
Jennifer Aniston in Dior
Jennifer Aniston always manages to pull of a good look. This time she seemed to have forgotten about her curves. We adore Dior, but the dress simply made her look heavier than what she is. Or is she hiding something? Hmm.

Katy Perry at The People's Choice Awards 2013
Katy Perry in Valentino Fall/Winter 2012
Katy Perry is known for her outgoing personality that she portrays in the red carpets in stunning body-hugging silhouettes. We know she has the perfect body to rock any outfit, but this particular look seemed very restrained. It felt more of as we were meeting with her at a casual lunch conference than an awards night. The dress was elegant no doubt, her hair nicely done, but there was something missing. What happened Katy?

Lea Michele at The People's Choice Awards 2013
Lea Michele in Elie Saab
It seems Lea Michele is your average outgoing girl who feels young and energetic. This pink ensemble from Elie Saab didn’t portray that girl many of us are in love with. With all respect, pink was not your color. Try better next time please, and again, we do love you.

Paris Hilton at The People's Choice Awards 2013
Paris Hilton in Mary Kantrantzou Fall/Winter 2012
Paris Hilton somehow emulates your typical well dressed Barbie doll. Parisian chic we could say as well. We don’t know what happened here, but we thought there was too much color going on everywhere. The dress seemed very heavy on her thin body, which we actually appreciate. A short luxurious silk/chiffon dress would of put her on the best dressed list for sure.

Olivia Munn at The People's Choice Awards 2013
Olivia Munn in Carolina Herrera Resort 2013
Why would you hide your curves when you know you have something to show off? Olivia Munn’s piece felt more constrained than Katy Perry’s choice. We don’t know what happened to her, but we’ll just leave it to our thoughts.

Erin Hayes at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Erin Hayes in a black fringed dress
What was this Erin?

Monica Potter at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Monica Potter in a pale pink dress
Pale and grotesque are the only words we could use to describe this.

Kristen Kreuk at The Peoples Choice Awards 2013
Kristen Kreuk in Jean Fares
Kristen Kreuk should have known this was a risky outfit to wear. There was too much texture and color bolting everywhere, or maybe they were desperate to run away from her.
